A fresh fruit salad to enjoy winter fruits. Enough to stock up on vitamins and anti-oxidants.
Fruit salad, pretty, pretty… and healthy 🙂 Today I offer you a concentrate of good humor with beautiful colors on the plate, vitamins and antioxidants.
Oranges, we look forward to them in the fall to stock up on vitamin C all winter long. Orange also contains a significant amount of minerals (calcium, magnesium).
But do you buy often khaki ? A fruit widely used in Japan that I discovered 30 years ago when I lived there but in France, it seems popular but I am often asked how to prepare it. For cake, recipes are to come, or simply for fruit salad like here. Peak season is from October to January. On the health side, persimmon, rich in fiber, contains carotenoid pigments with significant antioxidant power. As with most fruits, there are many varieties of persimmons, which can be classified into two main types: the persimmon with astringent flesh, red in color, and the apple persimmon, the one used here and most often found in our markets.
Pomegranate, I love sprinkling these little seeds, both sweet and tangy, on both sweet and savory dishes. Like in my salmon tartare or my raw fish and green apple verrines. Powerful anti-inflammatory, rich in vitamin C, pomegranate is very interesting for fighting cardiovascular diseases, certain cancers and neurological disorders and good for the joints.
Limealso rich in vitamin C, here I use the juice and zest to give a little pep to the fruit salad. Very finely grated with my favorite tool, the microplane grater.
