Ultra fresh, this fruit salad is deliciously flavored thanks to a homemade mint syrup.
How do you like to eat strawberries? Simply as a fresh fruit salad with whipped cream or a little brown sugar? Or a slightly more elaborate dessert?
I suggest pouring a little mint syrup over your strawberries, letting it sit for a few minutes so that the mint infuses and subtly flavors the strawberries and sugaring them lightly. Not with an industrial syrup but with a homemade syrup, incomparable in flavor, without coloring or preservatives. That’s where this recipe comes from. Since I made my first homemade mint syrup (the recipe is available here), it’s no longer possible to buy it, apart from artisanal products. I keep it in the fridge and one day we poured some over our strawberries. Since then, it’s a classic in our house that I’m sharing here. To prepare with syrup that you will have already prepared or with an express syrup, which I therefore sweeten a little less than the recipe for the drinks.
And for strawberry lovers, I offer three strawberry tart recipes: strawberry tart with light verbena cream, strawberry tart with almond cream and finally a Breton shortbread-style tart with strawberries and rhubarb compote. And also a compote of fresh and cooked strawberries, a very pleasant combination, as well as a strawberry mousse for those with a sweet tooth.
